LONG HAUL FOLDING KAYAKS

Adventures Unfold

The Boats We Build

The Finest Folding Kayaks in the World

Your standards are high. You require unparalleled quality, durability, and superior performance. You need a kayak that is going to last.

Whether you’re day paddling, planning an expedition somewhere around the world, or if paddling is in your job description as a guide or member of the military, you need the highest quality materials, superior stability, serious load capacity, excellent tracking, and unequalled reliability.

These are the hallmarks of Long Haul Folding Kayaks.

Master Boat Builder and Owner Mark Eckhart developed his kayak and canoe designs after more than three decades using, repairing, and manufacturing kayaks. He realized there was a better way to design and build long-lasting, folding kayaks that are just as portable as they are durable. Mark is committed to creating new boats that will last generations as well as helping customers repair and recondition their existing boats. We rig customers’ kayaks for sailing and teaches owners how to make their boats last.

Every kayak and canoe is built in Long Haul Folding Kayaks’ Cedaredge, Colorado shop by Mark and his team of highly skilled craftspeople.

See what makes Long Haul Folding Kayaks the finest folding kayaks in the world.

Wood frame kayaks are superior and have stood the test of time. We hand-select the best Ash and Birch woods, then laminate and shape them into frame components, and seal them with marine-grade finish. High-grade stainless-steel fittings connect each piece to create strong, lightweight frames so tough they can confidently handle large payload capacities and the stresses of full-size sail rigs.

Heavy-duty marine rubber hulls are handsewn and topped with the best quality marine materials in the industry to create kayak shells that last for generations. Comfortable, ergonomically correct seating and smart finishing touches are thoughtfully positioned with the paddler in mind.

The York is a completely unique 3 person folding Canoe that is every bit as capable as Long Haul Kayak's line of Folding Kayaks. The York has several advantages as a larger vessel: bigger hull, bigger payload bays, it is extremely effective for fishing, it has easier access to the cargo bay than a kayak. The York is the largest folding boat on the market, and it’s built with the safe craftsmanship and reliability as all Long Haul vessels.
